Motocross Tracks
Building safe, custom tracks New Zealand wide for every rider
At Land & Trail Solutions, we are dedicated to delivering motocross tracks that blend creativity with functionality. Built on thorough planning and close collaboration with the client, our process takes your project from site assessment through to track design and construction with a seamless approach tailored to your needs. We proudly stand by our work as New Zealand’s leading track builder.
Built by experienced riders, designed to ride right.
Building a motocross track properly takes more than just machine skills alone. It requires real riding experience with a strong understanding of angles, sizing and spacing to create a track that is safe, progressive, and flow’s well. Our crew has decades of riding experience to have full confidence with testing every feature built- no hesitation.
Below is an overview of our process, so you know exactly what to expect as we work together to create the perfect track.
Initial Site Review
Before conducting an on-site assessment, we begin with a remote Site Review to gather key insights about your property. This step allows us to evaluate potential opportunities and challenges early in the process, ensuring a more efficient and informed approach to your project. We provide this initial review at no cost as part of our commitment to delivering exceptional service.
This preliminary review helps us determine feasibility, refine our approach, and prepare for the next step—the on-site assessment, where we conduct a detailed evaluation of your property.
Our Initial Site review Includes:
Site Photo Review: Assessing supplied photos to understand the terrain, vegetation, and current site conditions.
Satellite Imagery Review: Using satellite imagery to analyse the land layout, elevation changes, and any potential site limitations.
Soil Assessment: Reviewing soil types and ground conditions to determine suitability for track construction.
On-Site Assessment
Our comprehensive site assessment involves a thorough on-site inspection of the proposed track location. We evaluate key factors such as topography, soil composition, drainage potential, and overall site suitability to ensure the construction of a safe, functional track. We also identify natural features that can be integrated into the design and proactively address potential challenges, laying the groundwork for an efficient and successful build.
Assessment Includes
Understand your vision for the track
Identify desired features and layout preferences
Assess rider skill levels and any specific requirements
Initial Consultation
Evaluate natural slopes and gradients to identify optimal areas for jumps, berms, and straightaways
Minimize the need for extensive earthmoving by leveraging existing land contours
Topography & Terrain Analysis
Soil Analysis
Identify and mark existing underground utilities
Excavate test pits to evaluate soil type, assess its suitability for track construction, and determine the need for any soil amendments
Identify potential subsurface challenges such as groundwater or rock
Drainage Planning
Review existing drainage patterns
Identify areas requiring additional drainage solutions to prevent water accumulation and erosion
Vegetation Assessment
Assess current vegetation coverage and density
Determine the scope of clearing required to prepare the site
Permits & Land Use Considerations
Address potential project impacts on the surrounding community, including noise, dust, and environmental concerns
Consult with you to assess if professional engineering support is needed to navigate zoning restrictions, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements early in the process
Site Access Review
Determine the safest and most efficient access routes for heavy machinery and material deliveries entering and exiting the site
Key Benefits of a Site Assessment
Early identification of potential challenges, reducing costly surprises later
Optimized track design that complements the site’s natural features
Accurate cost estimates tailored to the site’s specific condition
